Zumrat Dawut, a survivor of China’s modern-day concentration camps.
In the recent years, Ms. Dawut has been taking part in the Uyghur community’s advocacy for human rights and freedom. She shares her heartbreaking stories regarding her detainment in the concentration camps as a way to spread awareness and create actions to advocate for the people of East Turkistan. Ms. Dawut also first escaped to Pakistan, where she and her family were still in danger, and eventually settled in the US.
