FRIDAY! Human Rights Advocates Host Online Protest to Stop the 2022 Beijing ‘Genocide Games’
Join the Online Protest Happening October 1
from 9:00 am ET to 5:00 pm ET
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Save the Persecuted Christians (STPC) along with the Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC), Women’s Rights Without Frontiers (WRWF), and a large coalition of supporting organizations, is hosting an urgent online protest tomorrow, Friday, October 1, to Stop the 2022 ‘Genocide Games’ in Beijing, China.
Earlier this week, Communist China said international spectators will be banned from attending the prestigious international winter Olympics and Paralympics games. Now, while the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)celebrates the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), people in the free world will protest the Communist regime’s multiple genocides, inhumanity, brutality, hegemony, and transnational crimes.
Dede Laugesen, Executive Director of Save the Persecuted Christians, urges immediate action, “The Olympic Charter pledges to ‘place sport at the service of the harmonious development of humankind, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity.’”
Laugesen asks, “How can the IOC make that pledge yet place the Olympics in a country with an internationally recognized criminal record of genocide and human rights violations? China’s horrific human rights record – which it stubbornly defends – is a hideous betrayal of the world’s finest athletes. This Olympics must not be held in Beijing.”
A protest toolkit with tips, memes and sample Tweets is available at the campaign’s website, GenocideGames.org.
Whether or not these tools are used, protestors are encouraged to include the hashtag, #GenocideGames, in their social media posts and to urge people to sign the public petition to move and boycott the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games kicking off February 4.
“Every person opposing this injustice matters. The people in power—the IOC, corporate sponsors, and politicians—won’t budge without significant public outcry,” said Dede Laugesen, executive director of Save the Persecuted Christians. “It will take tens of thousands demanding the Olympics be moved to force them to do the right thing. As human beings, we owe it to the people who have endured and are right now being subjected to Genocide, live organ harvesting, and society-wide tyranny. The dreams of one Olympian should not be valued over the dreams of millions ofUyghurs, Tibetans, Southern Mongolians, Kazakhs, Hong Kongers, Falun Gong practitioners, and Christians who are being murdered, disappeared and exiled by Communist China.”

Save the Persecuted Christians’ mission is to save lives and save souls by disseminating actionable information about the magnitude of the persecution taking place globally and by mobilizing concerned Americans for the purpose of disincentivizing further attacks on those who follow Jesus.
With so much of the world’s Christian population being imprisoned and/or harassed for their beliefs, such as Christians in China, the need has never been greater for the sort of grassroots campaign STPC’s SaveUs Movement is working to foster. Its efforts are modeled after a miraculously successful one that helped free another population suffering from heavy persecution—Soviet Jews—by penalizing those in the Kremlin responsible for such repression. Through this movement, Save the Persecuted Christians endeavors to provide American policymakers with the popular support they need to effect real change worldwide and alleviate systemically the suffering being experienced by so many of those following Christ.
